Unarmed Private Security Officer Requirements:
1. Age and Character:
o Must be at least 18 years old.
o Demonstrate good moral character.
2. Criminal Background:
o No felony convictions.
o No misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude.
o Must not be prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition under federal law.
3. Training:

o Provide fingerprint cards for background checks.
o Pay the required application fee.
Armed Private Security Officer Requirements:
In addition to meeting all unarmed security officer requirements:
1. Age:

o Complete a 12-hour firearm training course approved by DOPL, which includes:
6 hours of classroom instruction on legal use of firearms and safety.
