Getting Your Alabama Guard Card

Complete your 8-hour initial training. This course covers the ASRB's required curriculum for a Security Officer License.

Get fingerprinted and pass a background check. The ASRB requires FBI and Alabama Bureau of Investigation fingerprint-based background checks before issuing a license.

Submit your Personal License Application to the ASRB. Pay the $112 total fee when you apply - that covers your license and card costs.

Wait for ASRB approval. Once your training, fingerprints, and background check are on file, the Board issues your Personal License.

What does it cost to get licensed in Alabama?

The ASRB Personal License fee is $112 total. If you renew late, there's a $25 late fee, and a lost card can be replaced for $10.
