What Is the Defencify Academy?
The Defencify Academy is an online security guard certification program in three tiers: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each tier is a set of self-paced courses, and finishing one earns you a digital certificate and a lapel pin for your uniform.
Employers look for guards with documented training. The Academy gives you 55+ hours of it, on paper and on your uniform.
It doesn’t replace your state guard license. If you still need one, start with your state’s course.

No. It’s a professional certification program, and it doesn’t replace the license your state requires. If you still need your guard card, start with your state’s course page.
Do I need security experience to start?
No. Bronze starts with the basics, like your power to arrest, patrol and report writing.
How long does the Academy take?
The full program is 55+ credit hours across 23 courses: 21 in Bronze, 20 in Silver and 14 in Gold. With steady study, most people finish in two to three weeks. Your access never expires, so you can take as long as you need.
Do I have to take the tiers in order?
Each tier builds on the one before it, so we recommend Bronze, then Silver, then Gold.
When do I get my certificate and pin?
Your digital certificate is emailed as soon as you finish a tier. Your lapel pin ships within 5–7 days.
Can I buy one tier at a time?

Will the Academy help me get hired?
It gives you documented proof of 55+ hours of training to show an employer. Hiring decisions are up to each employer, but a certificate is something concrete you can point to in an interview.
