Unarmed Security Guard Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

Age & Citizenship Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years old

Character & Fitness Standards:

No court declarations of mental incompetency (unless subsequently declared competent)
Free from habitual substance abuse or dependencies that would impair job performance
No physical or mental disabilities that would prevent effective security duty performance

Criminal Background Requirements:

No felony convictions within the past 5 years
No misdemeanor convictions within the past 5 years for:
Firearms-related offenses
Shoplifting or theft
Assault or battery
Controlled substance offenses

Training Requirements: Complete a minimum of 4 hours of state-approved basic training covering:
