4. Background Check Process

  • Submit to background investigation

5. Submit Application

  • Email required documents to: dsp_plapplicant@delaware.gov
  • Include: completed application + DTCC exam certification
  • Use subject: "LastName, FirstName-Security Guard Application"

6. Get Licensed

  • Receive email authorization to work (temporary 15-day ID)
  • Receive the official Delaware yellow card by mail

Armed Security Guard (Red Card) Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 21+ years old
  • Complete 40-hour firearms training course
  • Submit the firearms certification form
