This course provides the Level II training required by the Texas Department of Public Safety Private Security Bureau for unarmed security guards. - Module 6: Crisis Intervention and Emergency Response - Develop skills to handle emergencies, de-escalate situations, and coordinate with law enforcement
Upon successful completion, you'll receive a Texas-approved certificate of completion to use as proof of education when applying for your Texas security guard license. The course can be completed entirely online at your own pace, making it perfect for busy schedules.
Important Note: The Texas Department of Public Safety conducts a fingerprint-based FBI Criminal History background check for all new license applications. Applicants do not need to be Texas residents to qualify for a security guard license.

General Requirements for Texas Security Guards
Age Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years old for Level II (unarmed) positions
- Must be at least 21 years old for Level III (armed) positions
Background Check Requirements:
- Fingerprint-based FBI criminal history background check conducted by Texas DPS
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history
- No court declarations of mental incompetence due to mental defect or disease
- No dishonorable discharge from U.S. armed forces
Residency:
- Texas residency is NOT required to obtain a security guard license
